Hi, I’m Ellie, the Gulf Coast Crunchy Mama. I wasn’t always “crunchy” though. I grew up in the suburbs of Philly eating Easy Mac, watching MTV for far too many hours a day, organic or natural products were never considered, and most vegetables on the dinner table were covered in a yellow cheese sauce (WTF is in that stuff anyway??). As a true child of the ’90s I used to slather myself in Bath and Body Works (any other Cucumber Melon fans out there?) and I had every flavor of Lip Smackers. I was always thin so I figured I was healthy.
Through years of self discovery, research, and trial and error, I have found myself very happily living a much more natural and healthy lifestyle. My husband Matthew, and our two sons Dexter (3) and Waylen (6 months) and I now live on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Life in the South isn’t always “crunchy” friendly, so sometimes we find ourselves being creative to make this “crunchy” life work.
I am in no way an “expert” on the things I share on my blog. My purpose for writing this blog is to share my knowledge, and what has worked for me and my family. We might not always do things the most natural or green way, but we do our best every day to live healthy, clean, and sustainably in a way that works for us. I hope that through what I share you and your family can live a little more “crunchy” too!
